Moments flew by like passing doves. Bree's mind seemed to be concentrating on the thoughts around her, hearing who was hosting the party and the theme. Bree's gaze seemed to come from a trance as she smiled softly. The voices were beginning to grow even louder, many marvelling that Bree had driven her own car to school. She began to breath, remembering she needed to in the human presnece. Her eyes looked into his, and it was almost like falling into a pool of melted ice. She sighed softly and spoke with a voice of ringing church bells.
" I think it would be fun to go. We wont need to dress up though, but since we will to blend in...We should go in matching or related costumes. Unless you don't want to that is, maybe you were even planning to go with another?" Her voice seemed to pick around the edges. Wanting to find out if she could actually go matching with her so called brother.
She still noticed their foreheads were touching, his irregular breathing seemed to tingle her ghostly skin. A slight giggle passed through her lips as she leaned forward to whisper in his ear.
"Then again, Halloween is my birthday."

Lance's jacket was now soaked. He still kept walking and his Ipod still playing. He muttered something under his breath and now he wasn't so wet. He then took a glance in a car when he was passing. He then looked back up ahead to the school and his eye twitched. “Note to self...Never look in cars”; he thought as his stopped twitching.

Jared allowed a smirk to cross his lips as he whispered,"So this year you want to celebrate never growing in real age? How old would you be now?" His voice joked.
He then inched closer toward Bree. His deep icy blue eyes locked into her topaz ones once more as he shifted his hand to hers. "The choice is yours. I'll go to the party or we can have a private birthday party for you." His voice left a seductive tone on the word "private" as if telling her the second one might be more dangerous. Jared Hoffman was a dangerous..being.
He sent her one of his smiles that would make any of the other school girls fall to their knees gasping for air. Yes, he was that amazing. One look makes the girls go crazy, as they say. Well, at least looks from Jared, but he was unsure if they worked on his vampire partner. He often joked with her, but it was unsure if he really loved Bree or if he just was testing his charm on her for future reference on female minds.

Bree smirked evilly, as her small fangs glittered in the passing sun. She held his hand gently and thought of answers. The Halloween Party would be fun, yet something about how he spoke on the second choice. Hmm, what choice would a normal person make? Well, that is obvious...Not Bree.
"A private party all for me? I would be turning 18 but we all know that is short for 102. The choices seem lovely...Yet, what would this private party have to offer that the other couldn't?" Her tone seemed to trail off, a small bit of flirting never hurt.
She kept his gaze, unable to look away from such lovely azure eyes. The rain began to drizzle, the downpour subsiding. Bree let out a small sigh of relief as she leaned against Jared. He was right, if they weren't pretending...you would think the two were a couple.

Jared looked down at Bree with kind eyes. His pretending was starting to wear off. He was torn between his feelings for Bree. Did he lover her like a sister? Or did her love her like a man loved a woman? His emotions were mixed since she was the only being he truly communicated with. He tried to avoid talking to humans at all cost unless they were directly speaking to him and with something of importance.
"Well, it would be your party. You could have anything." He put a lower and more icy tone one the final word as if saying it truthfully and meaning it. Most males wouldn't tell a woman they could have anything they wanted, but Jared wasn't like normal males, of course. He was a man, but he was also a romantic male. Maybe that's why the ladies feel, he was so rare to come by in every way.
His rare eye color of icy blue. His rare scent that was so sweet yet not like perfume or collage. His rare race of the vampire. Even more rare was his brilliant personality. Romantic and caring in his own ways.
Was he the perfect husband? Hardly. Was he up for grabs? Not even close. Was he in the dreams of many? Every night.

Bree smiled up at Jared, looking into his seemingly vacant gaze. She giggled lightly, trying to surf through his thoughts. blocks seemed to be put up, like a wall of something to keep her out. Much like Bree's poetry reciting when she was trying to block everyone's thoughts away. She nodded, thinking of the options of both parties.
"Hmm, we will see how these so called football players ask me. Other then that, I'm leaning towards my own party." Her words weaved around the car as she listened to the voices outside.
The constant light hum of voices seemed comforting, especially when she was basically laying against Jared. Her hair draped her shoulders neatly, while her topaz eyes shimmered. Time was seeming to fly by, had school already started? Bree could care less in this sort of moment. She had always been fond of Jared, seeing him as an older brother. Yet as time went on her feelings had become mixed. Not knowing whether to think of him as an older sibling or more of a lover.

Jared slowly let his arms slid around Bree as he set his head on hers pulling her closer to his chest. Her scent is heavenly. He thought not even realizing she might be searching his mind. He then whispered softly and sweetly,"Very well, princess."
His icy eyes seemed even more distant as he spoke. He had a strange feeling within him at this moment that made him full of worry. Jared couldn't shake the feeling as his eyes slowly began to close.
An image froze within his mind as his eyes flashed back open. He didn't let the panic wash over his face, but instead he glanced at the clock in the dashboard. "I believe we should head to first period, unless you've changed your mind about even going through with today. I'll take you back home if you'd like. We could say that our mother needs us and we can take the rest of the week off. They'll believe anything we say."
He spoke the truth teachers believe anything that the Salem students had to say. It was as if they had a control over anyone who spoke to them, and they did.

Bree looked up at him with caring eyes. Something about the way he spoke seemed to make a shudder pass through her. Confusion spread around her as she wondered why he asked to take her home. Though he had a point, it was as if the Salem's had cast a spell.
"Jared, did you see something that will happen? For if you did, I'll do what ever is necessary to help the vision." Her tone was caring, obviously used to dealing with his looks into the future. Though it only happened once the person made up their mind.
Bree tensed immediately and began to search through everyone's mind. Nothing seemed wrong, yet many were thinking of the Halloween Party. Thoughts of the Salems, gifts for birthdays, costumes, and after school sports. Nothing out of the ordinary, yet something was making Jared tense. He tone came out caring, almost trying to soothe his feelings. "I think we should go today, maybe skip the rest of the week though. Yet, the teachers are thinking of assigning a few major tests. Reviewing notes, and other study sessions to help out the students. Though we could skip a class or two, and simply rest in the car."

Jared restrained the feeling that was washing over him as he kept her in his arms. He was still breathing in her sweet scent. The vision was out of his mind so she couldn't see or hear it.
His voice passed his lips slowly as he closed his icy blue eyes for a moment,"It's fine, Bree. No visions, just thoughts that you won't hear." His arms tightened as he took in her scent once more. He thought the truth was here in this car where no one could see them. The truth that often ripped at his soundless heart and tried to change his direction. He truly believed he couldn't love, but he liked to believe that he loved Bree..maybe as family. Maybe as more.
"We should just go to class. We have to work on a project in class for second period." He said letting go of her and sliding out the car leaving her to sit there as he closed the door behind him.
And the rain poured...

Bree blinked in realization that the comfort of his arms were gone. She sighed lightly and turned off her car. Letting the heat wash away and almost instantly fill with freezing air. She opened her car door, and stepped out gently. Dancing in the rain is what she seemed to be doing, yet she was dodging the rain. A giggled escaped her vocals as she spun around and landed gracefully under the school's doorway.
She looked to Jared, understanding not to intrude into his thoughts. Something must have been wrong, and surely school wouldn't make it better. The day ahead looked bleak, especially considering the Halloween party invitations. A few males stood watching her in awe, amazed at her grace. She brushed away the thoughts and waited for Jared to arrive beside her.

Jared didn't even bother dodging the rain. He was soaked now. His icy blue eyes were closed slightly holding a very innocent shine as he looked toward the distance.
"Oh my. It's Jared," A short blond girl muttered with a slight giggled. Her taller friend with short black hair put a seductive look on as she whispered, "Wow, he looks so gorgeous in the rain."
However, Jared didn't even notice them as he walked toward Bree. He took a step under the over hang and then put his finger through his blond hair. He pulled the bangs out a bit as water dripped down. His eyes closed and opened again in a quick manner as he watched the drops fall.
"I guess, I'm soaked now." He muttered in with his icy breath. His eyes glanced toward Bree as he put out his arm. "Let's go sister." He was now going to pretend again. He was going to pretend she was just a girl who lived with him. That she was his sister, who he had known for seventeen years. When there was a time period much longer than that.
